We serve all school aged youth however our primary focus area is middle school and high school aged students. Program Descriptions
Drop in Study and hangout 3pm-6pm in grounded (middle school/high school) Students will have a safe space to study, connect and meet new students, be themselves, and engage in fun activities. Students will also have support academically with tutoring and study sessions along with free drinks and snacks provided. This program is Free to all students and requires no sign up.
Grounded Girls (support group/mentorship) middle school/highschool A safe space for anyone who identifies as a young woman to have open and meaningful conversations surrounding topics of life such as mental health, self care, finding yourself, and preparing for the future. This program will also provide mentorship and personal development for your teen.
Drama Club The goal of the club is to give our students an outlet to use their voice, help sharpen their confidence and public speaking, cultivate stories that are their own, write their own positive outcomes, and see their situations in different lights. This is a free program but requires registration. This program is in proud partnership with Shoreline Community College. Mental Health Sessions & Free Youth Counseling Black Coffee Northwest Grounded Youth Leadership Development Space and CHARMD, who provides mental health services for all immigrant populations, including African immigrants and people of color in Shoreline have collaborated to provide mental health services. This is for Young adults ages 10-19. Registration is required for this program.
Step Team Elementary, Middle, High School Featured in a LIZZO video about sisterhood and Nationally ranked, The Northside Step Team is a team that performs a unique dance art form that originated in Africa. Stepping is a form of percussive dance in which the participants' entire body is used as an instrument to produce complex rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoken works and hand claps. The purpose of our is to create an atmosphere of unity and diversification through stepping and group creativity. The group’s primary responsibility is to entertain, give back through community service projects, develop a sense of pride, gain leadership skills, and develop a camaraderie between their teammates.
